The First Alabama Cavalry is a Western Federal reenactment group. During the Civil War there were pockets of "union men" who followed the "old flag" during the war. Centered around Decatur, Alabama, the First Alabama Cavalry mustered into the Union army after Federal Forces occupied Decatur and they fought with distinction to the end of the war.
